About Lightsheet Imaging
Lightsheet Fluorescence Microscopy (LSFM) utilizes a thin planar sheet of excitatory light to selectively illuminate a thin optical section of the sample at a time. This approach minimizes out-of-focus light and reduces photobleaching compared to traditional epifluorescent microscopy. This allows for high-resolution imaging deep within optically cleared samples.
Depending on the experimental requirements, researchers can prioritize high spatial resolution for detailed structural analysis, or optimize for faster imaging speeds to capture targets when high spatial resolution is not required.
Translucence Lightsheet Imaging Techniques
At Translucence Biosystems, we image cleared and labeled samples on the Lightsheet Z.1 equipped with the Mesoscale Imaging System™. The Mesoscale Imaging System is optimized for imaging large intact tissues with unprecedented speed and resolution. This imaging setup is what we use for our services and internal research and development. The Mesoscale Imaging System, coupled with the ZEISS Lightsheet Z.1 or ZEISS Lightsheet 7, makes these microscopes compatible with higher refractive index solutions employed in many tissue clearing protocols. Additionally, it enables the use of 2.5x objective lenses for faster image acquisition.
